With border closures extending into perpetuity, now's the time to set out and explore your own "backyard." Here in the United States, our backyard is quite large, so PNW Squad Member Porsha Murdock is recommending where you should start: Helena, Montana.
With over 500 trails in the surrounding area and a trail network that flows into downtown and other nearby neighborhoods, Helena is making its case to be the best riding town in Montana. Add in the fact that the South Hills trail network includes a handful of shuttle routes and the case becomes even stronger.
Views like these are what set great rides apart from good rides.
Riding straight into town where cold beers and delicious food await you is enough to make any mountain biker smile.
Are you adding Helena to your list of "must ride" destinations? We definitely will. We love our backyard and the quality of riding that living in the Seattle area affords us, but there's something special about traveling to new places for the sake of riding bikes.
