The Pine Dropper is your go to post for bikes of all different persuasions, whether it be your classic hardtail, XC bike, gravel grinder, fatty or cyclocross rig - this 27.2mm post continues the tradition of bringing reliable dropper posts to bikes with skinnier seat tubes.
Jack of All Trades
TIDY EXTERNAL ROUTING
To keep descending even more distraction free, the Pine Dropper features external routing at the midcap rather than the post head, allowing you to keep your cable routing nice and tidy.
Weatherpoof Sealed Air Cartridge
Like all of our droppers, the Pine rocks a sealed air cartridge that is known for its performance in below freezing temperatures. This design also makes the post easy to self service when it comes time for maintenance.

27.2 versatility
All-New versions of the Pine now come with the option of 90 and 110mm of travel. This accommodates more bikes and helps you win the battle against getting bucked forward by your seat on steep and techy terrain.
EXTERNAL VS. INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
The Pine is an externally routed dropper post, which means the cable will be secured to the outside of your bike frame. Determining what cable routing is compatible with your bike is the first step in picking dropper post compatibility.
Steps to Quickly Determine Routing Style
- Does your bike currently have a dropper? If so, is the cable running through the inside of the frame (internal routing) or is it secured along the outside of your frame (external)?
- What’s the age of your bike? Internal routing started around 2014 on high end mountain bikes and became more common on bikes after 2016 - if your bike is older than that it most likely is only compatible with external routing.
- Got a newer bike? Look for internal cable ports that would send the cable housing up the seat tube to the bottom of the post. Common spots for a port are towards the bottom of the seat tube, near the bottom bracket or possibly up near the head tube where your other internally routed cables enter.
How Does Travel Adjust work?
Our travel adjust system allows for a total of 30mm travel reduction in 5mm increments. If you were riding that line between travel sizes you can now fine-tune the perfect fit by following the easy directions below:
- Begin by lowering your dropper at or below the desired travel length (just make sure it’s not fully extended!)
- Unthread the midcap with your hand and slide it up to reveal the white DU Bushing.
- You’ll see negative numbers with corresponding notches machined into the post (each # represents decreasing travel.
- Slide the DU bushing up and rotate it to align the black arrow with the amount of travel you would like to reduce, then seat the arrow into the machined groove. (Make sure it’s fit securely into these notches!)
- After pushing the DU Bushing back down, lower the midcap and hand tighten (no need to go overboard!) and ride off into the sunset with the perfect travel for you.

FAQ
Is this post compatible with my bike?
Because the Pine is externally routed it's compatible with a lot of frames. Next step is the measurement part! Need help determining the best dropper for you? Click here >>>
Does the post come w/ internal cable & housing?
We include our cable and housing kits with each of our levers. When you order the dropper by itself cable and housing will not be included.
How often do I need to service the post?
As riding frequency and conditions vary, we do not have a strict service interval. Instead, we recommend servicing your post if it starts to feel sticky/slows down. When it does come down to service it is a quick and easy, at home process.
What’s the difference between the Cascade and the Pine Dropper Post?
The Cascade Dropper Post fits frames with seat tube diameters of 30.9 or 31.6mm, the Pine is the same style of post meant for 27.2mm seat tube diameters.

It is awesome to outfit a 27.2 seat tube bike with a quality dropper seat post.

I have genuinely enjoyed having a dropper on this silly hardtail. It allows me to get little looser than I otherwise would...

The Pine was something we didn’t know how much we’d enjoy until we had it on… max out your singletrack fun.
